He is full professor in the Department of Cultural Anthropology (DAC) at UFRJ, holding a master's degree and a doctorate in social anthropology from UFRJ. He works in the areas of research on visual anthropology, anthropology and cinema, creation of cultural worlds, Indigenous ethnology, narratives, and subjectivities with study and/or teaching experience at the Universities of St. Andrews, New York University, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Complutense de Madrid and in France: EHESS, Sorbonne, and Nanterre.
