He is professor of the Department of Cultural Anthropology (DAC), UFRJ. He has a degree in Anthropological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (1997), a master’s degree in international Migration and Ethnic Relations from Stockholm University (1999), and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). He researches popular economic practices and the debates around them that inform/format/question the government of economic circuits (informality, marginality, entrepreneurship, smuggling, etc.). His focus of interest is the relationship between economic rules and practices.
