Full professor (retired) in the Department of Cultural Anthropology (DAC) at UFRJ.  She has a degree in Social Sciences from the Fluminense Federal University, a master’s degree in social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (National Museum), and a PhD in Human Sciences from the University of São Paulo. Her main issues are in labor studies, emphasizing the formation and trajectory of the working class in Rio de Janeiro, trade unionism, models of labor relations, labor law, and legislation.
