She has a degree in sociology and politics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1994), a master's degree in sociology from the Brazilian Society of Instruction - SBI/IUPERJ (2002), and a doctorate in sociology from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (2006). She is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at IFCS/UFRJ.
