She holds a PhD in Political Science (MIT/USA), MA in Political Science (IUPERJ), Post-Graduation in Sociology of Development (Ilades/Chile), bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Politics (UFMG). She is the Interdisciplinary Center for Studies on Inequality (NIED) co-coordinator. She develops advisory and management activities in Brazilian and foreign scientific organizations and participates in the International Panel on Social Progress. She is a Full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and the International Science Council Fellow.
