Informações Gerais
Since 2015, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in collaboration with the City of Harare health department (COH) started an adolescent and youth friendly clinic in Mbare suburb in the Southern District of Harare district. Despite the positive outcomes of several interventions, the project has struggled to successfully increase the uptake of contraceptives, which are included within the current sexual reproductive health and HIV packages of care. Through a qualitative methodology based on focus group discussions and in-depth interviews, we aim to understand the knowledge, perceptions and practices that define the usage of contraceptives among adolescents in the district as well as the role of key influencing persons in the community. From these findings, we aimed at building a better-oriented health strategy targeted at this specific population.
