Graduated in History from UNB (1986), master’s in social Anthropology from Unicamp (1997), PhD in Sociology from Iuperj (2004), with a postdoctoral degree (2005) and senior internship (2017) at the University of Texas at Austin, she is an Associate Professor at the Center for Public Policy Studies in Human Rights Suely Souza de Almeida (NEPP-DH) at UFRJ. She was a visiting professor at the University of Lille 1 (2010), coordinator of the PPDH/UFRJ (2019-2021) and the Capes-Cofecub agreement with the Université Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (2015-2019). The main focus of her studies lies in the criminal justice system, especially in its organizational form and the constitution of legal facticity.
