He is full Professor in the Department of Cultural Anthropology at UFRJ. He holds a degree in Anthropology from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina (1992), a master's degree (1996) and a doctorate (2003) in Social Anthropology from the National Museum of UFRJ. He coordinates the Laboratory of Ethnography and Knowledge Interfaces (Leic) at UFRJ.
